  • In order for us to provide the best support for your child, we need support from both parents. In the case of divorce and shared decision-making power, we need to have a copy of your parenting agreement on file. Sole custody and decision making does not require the consent to counseling from both parents.

However, in the event of joint legal custody, reasonable efforts must be made for consent for counseling from both parents. Equally, we require both parents to sign the intake form as their way of communicating consent from both parents for us to enter a counseling relationship with your child. When there is uncertainty regarding legal custody or decision-making authority, delay in counseling until sufficient clarification is reached may occur.
