Our focus is to provide warm and intentional counseling for kids working through anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relational or behavioral issues, and change. We use a combination of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and neuropsychotherapy to help kids and families understand how their brains work.

Available at our Stayton office and virtually throughout Oregon, we work to build emotional strength and resilience through hope, help, and healing, so that internal growth leads to external change.

OUR APPROACH

    Hope

Has your child or teen left you feeling upset, confused, or frustrated by their behaviors? Are they not acting like themselves? Maybe they are struggling to focus, crying easily, or having difficulty sleeping. Are they yelling, or do they seem withdrawn or angry all the time?

You are not sure what is wrong, but something is feeling off. It feels like there has been a shift. There has been a traumatic event, or a devastating loss. School or home feels really hard right now.

    YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

At Tulip Tree, we listen and recognize areas of strength, courage, and resilience in you and your child. We create space to develop trust, a place to share, and a warm, honest friendship. We want to give you hope for positive change that can happen as we help address areas of concern.

    Help

Everyone has a story. And that story matters. We tailor counseling interventions that meet the unique skills, needs, and strengths of your child. We carefully listen, ask questions, and look holistically at at all aspects and consider how your child is wired.

EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT, AND EVERY STORY MATTERS.

We are trained in child development and how the brain works. Because of this, we are able to use methods that specifically speak a child or teen’s language. Whether through play, art, writing, building, nature, animals, or just talking, we allow kids to process, grow, and develop new positive rhythms. As these develop new habits, change begins to take root from the inside.

    Heal

I just want my child to be better.

I don’t like the way this feels.

    This doesn’t seem normal.

These are all common thoughts when children and teens are struggling. As we build trust and develop a friendship, your child will develop a sense of safety, security, and confidence in facing challenges. This becomes evident in reactions, relationships, and decisions.

HEALING ALLOWS CHILDREN TO GROW AND THRIVE.

As real change becomes evident, your child or teen will be able to overcome areas of struggle and stay regulated. This allows them the ability to grow, develop problem-solving skills, and strengthen healthy relationships.
