WHAT WE OFFER

Child & Teen Counseling
The individual counseling process is a place for hope and healing. Through individual counseling, clients meet one-on-one with a Laura to process areas of concern, celebrations, daily experiences, or traumatic events. She works to help them develop a safe space to understand what they are going through, help develop tools for emotional support and regulation, and work with them on building confidence. She works with children and teens who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, or other childhood concerns. Parents are intermittently brought into the counseling process as deemed necessary.
We provide support for:
**Children ages 5-18
**Teens dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and relationship issues
**Families navigating diagnosis, loss, behavioral problems, or pediatric concerns that need support
**We provide Telehealth options on a case-by-case basis for local children and throughout the state of Oregon.
"I don't think anyone can grow unless he's loved exactly as he is now, appreciated for what he is rather than what he will be". -Fred Rogers

Christian Counseling
At Tulip Tree Pediatric Counseling, LLC, we are aware of the many values, backgrounds, and core beliefs of the children and families we serve. Since our practice is grounded in Christian values, we are open to integrating faith-based and spiritually informed discussions and interventions when requested by our families and when clinically appropriate. This is always client-directed and with informed consent.
If this is something that is important to you as you seek counseling for your child, please communicate this with us so that we can clearly honor your request.

PLAY THERAPY
Play therapy is a theoretical approach that allows children to use normal communication and learning processes and allows them to build. In play therapy, toys become a child’s words and the play is the way they communicate. Laura has a certificate in Play Therapy with a Neurorelational Emphasis and is able to take what kids are doing in the play room and use it to help transform their thinking, actions, and responses. As she does this, she is able to help them regulate and develop tools that strengthen their emotional development and capability to deal with issues and face new challenges.

ADHD Therapy and Anxiety Counseling
Kids and teens who are navigating ADHD or anxiety can often feel like they are alone and not important. We provide evidence based approaches to help meet kids where they are at and help restore their belief that their story matters. We work to help them with activities and exercises that support their strengths and consider their interests. Laura has been highly trained and had years of experience working with kids and teens who have struggled with thoughts of incompetence, or feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and depressed. She is skilled at looking at the different levels of the brain and how they interact in thinking and action. Interventions are tailored to meet these needs and help clients see their value and find joy in the process.

These consultations are helpful if you are unclear about what is normal, if counseling is needed, or questions you have about child development. They are also helpful for parents of children who may be too young or young adults who are to old to be seen at Tulip Tree Pediatric Counseling.
**Parent Consultation can be done via Telehealth throughout the State of Oregon.
